Dean Furman dismissed claims from Maccabi Tel Aviv
Rangers midfielder Dean Furman has rejected claims Maccabi Tel-Aviv that he could soon join the club of Israel.
Furman, 19, was identified as a target for Maccabi by the club, the Director-General Avi Nimni who requested a free transfer, which was a possibility.
However Furman The Herald said: "I've had people phone and SMS stories about me saying that I am leaving Rangers but it is all news to me."
Furman will spend time in Israel on vacation Nimni but denied the suggestion he would meet with representatives of Maccabi to discuss a move.
"There is nothing in it," said Furman. "I have certainly not plans to meet anyone from the club when I head."
Furman, who was born in South Africa, has another year of his contract and Rangers made his first team debut against Dundee United last month.
