Dario Simic insist chance to play in Old Firm

AC Milan defender Dario Simic insists on the possibility of playing in an Old Firm derby would have made a rebuff to move to Galatasaray in favour of accession Celtic.

The 32-year-old Croatia international is to leave San Siro and was briefed on the side of Parkhead.

Simic told the Daily Record, he favoured a move to Glasgow on a new departure for Turkey.

He said: "Galatasaray want to join them and I want Celtic.

"If I could choose, there is no doubt I prefer to join Celtic.

"They are a great club with an amazing culture of football and there is nothing more exciting than the prospect of playing in a derby against Glasgow Rangers.

"I am talking about the situation in Milan and hoping a move can take place.

"My desire is to play outside Italy next season.

"I've been here a long time, with Inter and AC Milan and I want to try a new league."
